Ryan!

Jenna

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church! I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I know that families can be together forever and all eternity! I am so grateful for the Gospel in my life. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Pageant?

This past week has been the busiest week of my whole mission. PAGEANT PAGEANT PAGEANT!! Another year has gone by and Pageant is here already. The Hill Cumorah Pageant is about the Book of Mormon. It is what we missionaries look forward to during the summer. And pretty much every other mormon on the earth. Thousands of people come through the Historical Sites here every single day, and they are from all over the world. It is so fun to stand in front of hundreds of people and share my testimony of Jesus Christ's Gospel. A lot of running around, tripping over my skirts/dresses, lots of talking, asking "where are you from?", going to bed at midnight, lots of dumb jokes. What's not to love right? And then the best part I get to end my day with 9,000 people watching the biggest outdoor theatrical event in all of North America. So yeah I think you need to check this website out...

and PS the best thing about it is that it's all free! parking and the show!

He CAN make us beautiful

A girl that we are teaching is getting baptized really soon. Every time we go to teach her she seems to have either, written a poem about God or she finds something poetic in the scirputres and can't wait to share it with us.
This time she shared Psalms 30:5. She has been an amazing example to me in finding something beautiful in every scripture that she reads. This girl has gone through a lot lately, but she reads the Book of Mormon and the Bible every day and finds something beautiful from them. I know that Heavenly Father can make us beautiful from the ashes of our lives. I know that reading and praying about the Book of Mormon is how that happens. If we let Him into our lives He WILL make us beautiful, because we are His children and He LOVES us!

Life is about giving and serving. Things don't matter, people do. Our purpose is the greatest cause on earth. It is the most important message on earth. This message is worthy of our best focus, our best efforts, our best work ethic, our best faith and our best selflessness.

Family and the Priesthood

Last week my parents and my little sister Stephanie came to see me. I was in the middle of teaching a Book of Mormon class with my companion and I knew they were on their way over to the chapel. I kept looking up at the clock and all of the sudden I see my little sister running down the hallway towards me. I didn't know if I should keep teaching and just have her sit next to me and wait till it was over when a member from our church said, "well, run to her!" haha so I ran to her and hugged her. Walking up behind her I saw my mom, and I lost it. I ran to her and hugged her and couldn't let go. I looked back at my dad and he had tears in his eyes. It was the best reunion!
We had an amazing weekend together. I took them to Palmyra and we went to the Hill Cumorah Visitors Center, The Joseph Smith Farm, The Book of Mormon Publication Site, and we went down to Fayette to the Peter Whitmer Farm.
Before my family left I asked my dad if he would give my companion and I a Priesthood blessing. The Priesthood is the eternal power and authority of God. My dad was able to give us a blessing to help us to work hard for the rest of our missions. I am so grateful for a father that is worthy of the Priesthood. I am grateful to our LOVING Heavenly Father who loves us so much and wants nothing more than to have us return to him. I know that Priesthood blessings give us direction, healing, and comfort.
